This non-toxic trundle bed is constructed of hand-crafted, solid maple. The maple used is Western Maple grown in managed forests in Washington and Oregon. To highlight the natural beauty of this distinctive hardwood, each piece is hand rubbed with a distinct finish. Finish:
- Hope's 100% pure tung oil
- Recochem boiled linseed oil
- Varathane interior; oil-based polyurethane
- Varathane is used as a drying agent and for extra scratch guard protection. Once the finish is dry, it is inert and no off gassing occurs
- As added scratch protection, the finish used for Pacific Rim case goods includes an addition of liquid beeswax
