1. 100% Organic Cotton Outer Fabric — Pure as snow, made from cotton hand picked in Peru. Organically raised without any pesticides. This organic mattress fabric is completely chemical-free.
2. Chemical Free French Wool Wrap — needle punched wool from the south of France. The sheep live outside all year round, which results in a naturally more curly and longer fiber — it is the most resilient wool. The strong natural curl provides lasting resilience, bounce and loft that is superior to the mechanically crimped fibers, which will matt down faster. The wool is harvested from the back and belly only. This is a very important factor as usually wool also comes from the legs and crotch of the sheep, where it is impossible to completely wash out the smell. No chemicals are used in the processing of this French wool. The wool is washed in three soda baths with increasing temperatures (90 degrees - 140 degrees) followed by a cold rinse in pure water. The washing process virtually eliminates the typical sheep odor and risk of moth infestation. After the wool is dried it is converted into layers and needle punched to pre-compress into a tighter height — thus helping to minimize loft and settling of materials from body height. You can actually feel the natural "spring back" difference of this magnificent wool, which will provide optimal comfort.
3. Generous layers of staple organic cotton padding are healthy, firm and long lasting. No polyurethane foam so durability is greatly improved, and cotton does not emit the petrochemical vapors contained in polyurethane foam that can adversely affect sensitive people.
4. Swiss designed, high coil count Royal-Flex® Innerspring Unit provides excellent support and increased sensitivity to body contours.
5. T-Spring Side Supports reinforce the sides of the mattress for edge to edge sleeping comfort and support.
