Tales of a Showroom Manager
A couple of weeks ago, Chris came down to visit me in Wickford, RI and give me some training on how to approach customers. I was a man renewed, I had a new approach and a new outlook on people when they came through the doors. Away with the conventions of “lecturing” and in with the ideas of “How can I make this more comfortable for you?” I was able to test my newly honed skills on people over the past week and noticed an increase in closed sales and felt customers were more at ease, rather than overwhelmed by a deluge of information.
Opening up the Savvy Rest is “part of the magic of the mattress”, to quote Chris. I tend to agree. Customers found it much more clear when I opened up the mattress and showed them the layer system. One couple actually wanted to put the layer I had removed for them back in and zip it back up, so they could get a feeling on how it works!
The showroom experience is a now more interactive and personally tailored visit, which leads to less stress on my part and less overwhelming experiences for my visitors.
